No house is free of problems, whether it is new or old but some of those problems can be significant and may prevent the sale of a home. Wet basements, leaking roofs, insect damage, electrical issues, and corroded plumbing are something that homeowners are aware of before they sell a house but in most cases do nothing to fix or maintain these parts of the home. Water damage to a home is huge and could lead to other problems like mold, damaged foundations and rotting of the homes structure if not properly maintained. Obvious holes in trim, fascia, support beams and posts lead to questions about the structural integrity of the home that can’t be seen behind siding and interior walls. Obvious homeowner additions, patches or neglect of electrical and plumbing systems can lead to serious damage to the home or be fatal to unsuspecting new homeowners who don’t know anything about these systems. Have a professional licensed insured roofer, landscaper, electrician, plumber or other trade do the work right the first time to make sure your biggest investment is taken care of. Or ask an independent professional home inspector like ACT Home Inspections Inc. to identify the problems so they can be maintained before you move forward.
